Moala still considering many options

Viliami Moala wants to focus on his senior season but his recruitment is heating up more than ever and so the 6-foot-2, 326-pound defensive tackle from Sacramento (Calif.) Grant has some decisions to make. No one is going to rush him though.

Sample plans to take some visits

Lauderdale Lakes (Fla.) Boyd Anderson safety Mike Brown has made the offseason transition from linebacker look easy. His dominating performance–he was in on 11 tackles–last weekend earned him the highest grade from Rivals analyst Brian Perroni.

Richards is good fit for Stanford

Jordan Richards committed to Stanford last week and Folsom, Calif., coach Kris Richardson said it was a great fit not only from an athletic standpoint but the Pac-10 school also has an outstanding biology program that Richards likes.

Williams’ pledge boosts Huskies’ class

Washington, Cal, Notre Dame, Florida and LSU were the five finalists for Kasen Williams but after much deliberation the Sammamish (Wash.) Skyline wide receiver wanted to stay close to home and follow in the footsteps of his father, Aaron, who played wide receiver for the Huskies from 1979-82.

Grant looks like national powerhouse

Cars were lined up along Prairie City Road two hours before kickoff. Police blocked off the high school’s parking lot entrance because it was already full and they were directing overflow traffic further down the street. It was a big game and Shaq Thompson and his Sacramento Grant team came to play.

Johnstone happy with opening win

Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton didn’t open its season with a cupcake, instead it went up against Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman – another national powerhouse – and Tyler Johnstone said the 24-17 win was not only big for the team’s confidence but it’ll help Hamilton gain even more national notoriety.
